The Osu Castle in Ghana has a lot of history, it was built for trading in gold and other minerals but later used for slave trade purposes. The Osu Castle changed ownership amongst countries namely Portuguese, Norway and Denmark, Sweden, Britain and finally Ghana when she won her independence and became a republic state.
The castle became the seat of government until the erra of President John Agyekum Kuffour who argued that his government should not be identified with a place that was marred with slave trade.
