This was also known as the Naa Jaringa Walls. The Nalerigu Slave Defense Wall was a defensive structure built in Nalerigu to protect the town from Slave raiders and other threats. The wall was constructed in the 16th century by Naa Jaringa, a powerful Chief of the Mamprusi group.
