The Independence Arch is part of the Independence Square in Accra Ghana which contains monuments as part of the Independence struggle including the Black Star Gate and the Liberation Day Monument.
The Independence square was completed in 1961 under the leadership of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the first President of Ghana in readiness for the visit of Queen Elizabeth.
